As we move closer to the important August 8 primary vote I hope you are taking this election seriously. During my eight years in the Mississippi legislature I’ve come to know many of those seeking office. While I’ve made the decision to return to normal life I am glad to know there are patriots among us willing to continue the fight from within the belly of the beast.
What do you think about Carolyn Crawford? I live in her district and only hear from her at election time. Would Jeff Wallace be a better alternative? He went door to door to introduce himself to folks in this district.
I met Jeff Wallace several years ago and he probably knows the state constitution better than anyone in Jackson--including the Supreme Court (even wrote a book, "In God We Trusted" about the Mississippi Constitution). He's a real conservative that, despite the beatings, has been trying for years to get to Jackson and make a real difference.
I am hesitant to vote for any of you right now. Until I start seeing a push to abolish the Mississippi State Income Tax I will hold off on making my selection.
If you vote for the folks I've suggested you will see a push to abolish the state income tax. If you vote for the same ole folks who have been there you will not. As long as Hosemann is Lt Gov. there will be no significant reduction in taxes. He and his group like spending your money too much.
Sorry to see you retire. Who do you recommend for your house seat? Justin Keen or James “Jimmy” Wallace? I’d appreciate your opinion. Thank you for your truly conservative leadership and a job well done!
unfortunately you don't really have a good conservative choice. Charlie Hoots wants to be a conservative but as a Southaven alderman he proved to be very afraid to stand up to the mayor so I doubt he will have the ability to stand up for his principles in the legislature. I've not seen anything conservative out of Rodney Hall either, he has been in DC working for Trent Kelly and I honestly think he just wants to get back to DC as fast as possible. He is and will be an establishment guy so I wouldn't expect any real principled stands from him. Saying all that I guess I would vote for Hoots simply because I wouldn't want to help a wanna-be lifetime politician. Sorry I don't have a better answer.
Hoots is a coward who will vote how he is told. He voted to raise taxes twice and he also voted for the RegionSmart Tri State Compact resolution. He'll be the first in line to vote for an increase in the gas tax. Don't get me wrong, Hall is horrible too.
I don't know much about the insurance commissioner race. Chaney is the incumbent and has been in that position several terms. Young is challenging him but I think Young has run for governor and maybe other offices too but never came close to winning. It's difficult to find a real conservative who wants to be a full time bureaucrat and really that is all insurance commissioner is, so I don't even know how I'm going to vote on that but I will say voting against an incumbent is almost never a bad vote. I know Dane Maxwell personally who is southern public service commissioner. I like Dane and I think he is a conservative, if I could vote in that race I would definitely vote for Dane Maxwell.
Jeff Wallace is a good conservative man and should be in Jackson representing the conservatives of this great state.

Here is Carolyn's conservative score from the American Conservative Union. Her votes speak pretty loudly. http://ratings.conservative.org/people/7e340127-bea2-48af-95a8-368b99160880

If Delbert wins and Jason White becomes Speaker our state is lost!
Dana, we are in the small part of Olive Branch in the new district 20? Charlie Hoots or Rodney Hall? I am strongly leaning towards Rodney Hall.
