In the past few weeks, there has been an unprecedented push against conservative candidates. When I first arrived in the Mississippi legislature eight years ago, I wrote an article in which I estimated there were 20 conservative legislators in the Mississippi House of Representatives. That observation proved to be somewhat optomistic but generally true. But as I prepare to leave the legislature, I see that number has dwindled to almost zero.
