I was first elected in 2015 to serve in the Mississippi House of Representatives from District 6, Olive Branch. I’m often asked how I got involved in politics and what other political position I held before that of Representative. I had never run for any office before and was by any measure a complete novice at politics. I had always voted and I grew up listing to my dad, grand parents, and my great-uncle argue over politics. But I had never considered running or even thought it was a possibility. But on New Years Eve 2014 I found myself sitting on the couch discussing the possibility with my wife.
i understand that thought but its never going to happen and there are freedom of speech issues if you try and stop folks from joining together to express their opinion. The answer is to elect men and women who have principles that are not for sale. We also must understand the fight we are in and sometimes fight fire with fire by putting the fear of not getting re-elected if they sell out.
Agreed, we need PACs and lobbyist abolished.
