I don't think there is a great choice for sheriff in desoto. Tuggle's ad where he says he doesn't believe in doorbells makes him a hard no for me. A few years ago the southaven police department didn't believe in doorbells, ended up at the wrong house and killed an innocent guy in his living room. A sheriff who isn't worried about the rights of the citizens in his county is very troublesome. I've talked to Lee and he understand the sheriff's responsibility to protect the citizen's constitutional rights but he has never been strong enough to stand up to the other county supervisors so I don't know that he will be strong enough as sheriff. So in the end I like Lee better.
