I do not mind paying for services. What I do not appreciate about Mississippi's educational structure is the abuse of funds by small districts with overloaded administrative overhead, superintendents who make more than the governor while having small populations and failing schools. I am supposed to pay for these things but I cannot comment on or question them. This is taxation without representation. And on an unrelated note, Dana, why don't you run for US Congress or Senate and get us out of this RINO situation?

Stan I appreciate the confidence in me but I have just not felt God calling me to run for congress. I do believe He is preparing someone else for congress and he will be great. By the way I have someone specific in mind but I’ll wait on him and God to make the announcement.

We in Mississippi are taxed to death (literally) for schools even though we are retired seniors over 65 and have NEVER had kids to educate. I believe we have been egregiously over taxed for decades and penalized for not having a offspring(s).

Thanks for the effort to reduce taxes. I will not buy/drive a late model car in MS because of those taxes. Also homeschooled 7 kids to high school, private school, then college (2 to go). Pay very high property tax on nice home and rental properties. Literal “spring” (water line) in middle of my neighborhood street through pavement for years without being repaired. Also massive sinkhole for over a decade between my home and neighbor for over a decade. Massive repair attempts made, multiple times. Yard destroyed. Driveway cracked. Not getting benefit for taxes paid.

Property taxes should never happen to people 65 and over. Period.

AND, for those of us who homeschool, an undue burden is placed on us since we have to fund public schools with our property taxes and car tags even though we don’t use those services. We have to totally fund our own child’s entire education as well as the bloated salaries of public schools administrators who look down on us. It isn’t right or fair. It is really hard to see public school kids getting free laptops when we can’t afford to get one for our child. It’s hard to see school administrators take yet another trip to Disney while we have to forgo vacations.

You get punished here in ms for having a newer auto, & I'm sure a lot of it goes for these rip-off 13th checks.People bragging about thier $30,000 13th check. Most of the schools here in the delta are one big shit-hole. No way in hell you can send your kids to these schools.
