Kratom is commonly consumed as a powder, capsule, or tea and is sold in gas stations, vape shops, and online. Advocates praise its potential for managing chronic pain, anxiety, and opioid withdrawal, with an estimated 15 million Americans, including 100,000 Mississippians, using it for these purposes.
Both my daughter and son-in-law are addicted to kratom via the energy shot "Viva Zen". They are 35 years old with kids that they now completely ignore since their addiction. They get hopped up on viva zen to work and then sleep off the crash the entire time not at work. My daughter quit once and ended up in the hospital because the withdrawal symptoms were so terrible. Within 2 weeks of being "clean" she was back on them. Please ban this drug from over the counter sales.
