There needs to be a provision for annexed areas to withdraw from a city. Also, there are separate school districts (especially here in Columbus) where citizens pay taxes to allow their children to attend the city schools. That should also be allowed only by the consent of the majority. Very few in the separate school district of Columbus choose to attend Columbus public schools.

Hmmm, I’m not sure if ruling by majority is enough for the school issue. Maybe if our elected servants would pass a real school choice bill this wouldn’t be an issue anyway.

I wish we would have had years ago when Pearl forced us into annexation. We fought it as long and hard as we could.

Finally, someone in Jackson has scraped up an enough sense to come up with a good bill. Maybe there is some hope for them. Well, I guess there needs to be more of them to get it passed. Hmmmm.
