From all the comments I read under Governor Reeves’s statement, most Mississippians did not want this bill passed. They felt like more focus should be made on the struggling schools instead of bombarding the schools that doing a good job. Rating scores have improved in Ms.
I briefly saw Senator Debar in the Capitol in early January this year and I am in his district. I approached him about the School Choice Bill to make sure he was with us. He bald faced lied and said he was for School Choice....BUT he was VERY rude for a public official talking to one of his constituents. I think it is time for him to leave the senate since he is only a RINO. His area of the State is BLOOD RED, and he has no place representing it. I am seriously considering running against him in his next election. I certainly could do better than he in representing conservatives in Mississippi!
Excellent framing of the philosohpical disconnect. Whats particularly telling is the committee kill rather than floor debate, which sidesteps accountability entirely. Reminds me of regulatory capture in other sectors where the mechanism designed for reform ends up protecting incumbents. If the party platform explicitly endorses parental choice but leadership blocks it behind closed dors, the label question becomes unavoidable.
Amen! Fixing education is the single most important thing that will help our nation and School Choice the only path!

I have been disgusted by them for a very long time. There should be a recall remedy.
