Members of the Mississippi Freedom Caucus (MSFC) were in Washington D.C. discussing policy and strategies with members of the U.S. House Freedom Caucus when the Supreme Court announced its decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.
In an interview outside of the Supreme Court just moments after the decision was announced, MSFC Secretary Dan Eubanks, a co-author of the bill that brought down Roe vs. Wade told a Breitbart reporter, "I can't put into words what I'm feeling right now, 64 million lives later." Eubanks continued that it was "divinely orchestrated" that he and his fellow MSFC members would be in Washington on such a glorious day.
The MSFC and all its members strongly stand for life and celebrate the historic overturning of Roe v. Wade.
"As we celebrate life in post-Roe Mississippi, we must continue to fight to make our state the safest place in the country for the unborn and the best place to raise a family," said MSFC Chairman Dana Criswell.
He continued, "as other legislators, including some of my fellow Republicans, have begun to call on the expansion of Medicaid, welfare, and other taxpayer-funded programs that would grow the size and scope of government, the Mississippi Freedom Caucus has begun exploring ways to cut costs and red tape for adoption, ways to further reduce the overall tax burden in Mississippi so that people have more money in their pockets making it easier to financially support a family, and ways to improve the educational system in Mississippi by putting the student first, ahead of the system."
The MSFC hopes that its fellow Republicans in the Mississippi Legislature will turn to proven conservative solutions and reject any proposals that will expand government in the state and increase the tax burden on Mississippians.
